Mini me, who's nickname has become Cookie based on a football incident involving his helmet and a bag of chocolate chip cookies, was the man at our game Monday. He smoked a double to right, and played flawlessly at second base, getting three put outs.
One of our best players, "the flash", was seriously injured in a car wreck Friday night and is out for the season, but it could have been worse. So much worse. He's young and resilient, and he'll get well and life will go on. Unfortunately, from a baseball standpoint, he was our catcher, and run after run scored when we couldn't find anyone who can catch a pitched ball. In the great scheme of things, a minor set back, but we really need to get a win for the kids, who've been working so hard since March. The coaches could use a win too. We play again Thursday, and then twice next week, and we'll continue to work hard to get better.
The raffle was relatively successful, raising $1800 toward the new concession stand, and the grand prize winner donated the $650 back to Summer Rec. They'll use it to stock the concession stand for the rest of the summer.
I remain the BIG FAT LOSER, and am too busy to care about my weight right now. We're going to put in a new front door this weekend, and hopefully finish up the last of the painting, in anticipation of our eminent "George Bush" flooring installation.

Go Cookie!
I'm still off the health wagon as well. It's more fun this way. I figure I'll have a heart attack in four or five years, and maybe then I'll start being no fun.
:)
Glad we takled last night and the "cokie" story really made my heart sing. Thanks for that. Things are way too busy for everyone, but try to stick with something.
With the nice weather now (except I hear it is pouring in CU right now) you can take walks at my lunch a few days a week.
I know a cutie who would walk with you across the street. Maybe she'd feed you grapes along the way. ;)
try to stick wit it bro'.
